Ranthambore National Park is open from October 1st to June 30th. The park remains closed during the monsoon season (July–September) for maintenance and animal breeding. Safari Booking
How do I book a safari in Ranthambore?
You can book through our website by filling the enquiry form on any safari booking page. Our team will confirm availability and process your booking within 30 minutes. We accept online payments and provide an instant e-ticket via email and WhatsApp.
How far in advance should I book?
We recommend booking at least 30-45 days in advance, especially during peak season (October–March). Weekend slots fill up quickly. During off-peak months (April–June), you can sometimes book 7-10 days ahead. Last-minute bookings are possible but not guaranteed, particularly for popular core zones (1-5).
What documents are required for booking?
Indian Nationals: Valid photo ID — Aadhar Card, Voter ID, Driving License, or Passport. Foreign Nationals: Valid Passport (original required at park entry). All visitors must carry the original ID to the safari — photocopies are not accepted. Children under 5 need a birth certificate.
Can I choose my safari zone?
Zones are allocated by the Forest Department through a random allocation system at the time of booking. While you can request a preferred zone, allocation is not guaranteed. For the best tiger sighting chances, we recommend Zones 1-5 (Core Area) for Jeep Safari or Zones 6-10 (Buffer Area) for Canter Safari. Our team can advise on which zones have recent tiger activity.
Safari Types
What is the difference between Jeep and Canter Safari?
Jeep Safari: 6-seater open-top Maruti Gypsy. Access to all 10 zones (core + buffer). More intimate, better for photography, goes on narrow trails. From ₹2,000/person.
Canter Safari: 20-seater open-top bus. Access to zones 6-10 (buffer only). More affordable, comfortable, and ideal for large groups and elderly. From ₹1,200/person.
Both include a trained driver and Forest Department naturalist guide.
What are the safari timings?
Morning Safari: 6:00 AM – 9:30 AM (Summer) / 6:30 AM – 10:00 AM (Winter)
Afternoon Safari: 2:30 PM – 6:00 PM (Summer) / 2:00 PM – 5:30 PM (Winter)
You must report at the safari departure point 30 minutes before the scheduled time. Each safari lasts approximately 3-3.5 hours.
Which safari is better for photography?
Jeep Safari is recommended for photography. The smaller vehicle allows for better positioning, closer approach to animals, and access to narrow trails where tiger sightings are more likely. We recommend morning safaris for the best light conditions — the golden hour light between 6:30–8:00 AM creates stunning wildlife photographs.

Safety & Preparation
Is Ranthambore Safari safe?
Yes, Ranthambore Safari is completely safe! All vehicles are accompanied by a trained driver and certified naturalist guide. Strict rules are enforced: stay seated, no standing, maintain silence, and follow the guide’s instructions. Tigers are habituated to vehicles and typically ignore them. In 40+ years of tourism, there has never been a tiger attack on tourists in a safari vehicle.
What should I wear on safari?
Wear earthy, neutral colors (olive, khaki, brown, beige). Avoid bright colors (red, white, neon) as they disturb animals. Dress in layers — mornings are chilly (especially Nov–Feb). Closed shoes (sneakers/boots) recommended. Don’t forget: sunscreen, hat, sunglasses (especially March–June). Carry a light jacket even in summer for the morning safari.
What should I bring on safari?
Must-haves: Original photo ID, camera with zoom lens (200mm+), binoculars, water bottle, sunscreen, hat/cap.
Nice-to-have: Power bank, extra memory cards, light snacks (no plastic), notebook for sightings.
Don’t bring: Loud music, plastic bags, food with strong smells, drones (strictly prohibited).

Is safari suitable for children and elderly?
Yes! Children of all ages love the safari experience. Children below 5 travel free. For elderly visitors, we strongly recommend the Canter Safari — the larger vehicle provides a more comfortable and stable ride with easier boarding. The afternoon safari has milder temperatures and is better for those sensitive to early morning cold. Our guides are experienced with family groups.
