Experience India's Most Iconic Tiger Reserve
Why Ranthambore?
Originally the hunting grounds of the Maharajas of Jaipur, Ranthambore was declared a national park in 1980 and is part of India’s prestigious Project Tiger initiative. Its unique landscape — a dramatic blend of dry deciduous forests, ancient ruins, and shimmering lakes — makes it one of the few places where tigers roam freely amidst historical monuments.

GOT QUESTIONS?
Safari Booking FAQs
Commonly asked questions about booking your Ranthambore safari experience.
How far in advance should I book my safari?
Book at least 30-90 days in advance, especially during peak season (October–March). Jeep safaris fill up faster. Early booking ensures better availability and the best experience.
Can I choose which zone to visit?
Zones are allocated randomly by the Forest Department through a computerized system. You cannot choose a specific zone, but all zones offer excellent wildlife sighting opportunities. Zones 1-5 are considered premium for tiger sightings.
Jeep vs Canter — which is better?
Jeep (6-seater) is ideal for small groups and photographers — more intimate and agile. Canter (20-seater) is budget-friendly and great for large groups. Both follow the same routes.
Is it safe for children and elderly visitors?
Yes! Safaris are safe for all ages. Vehicles follow designated trails and maintain safe distance from animals. Children below 5 years are not recommended for jeep safaris due to bumpy terrain. Canter is more comfortable for elderly visitors.
What are the chances of seeing a tiger?
Ranthambore has one of the highest tiger sighting rates in India — approximately 40-60% chance per safari during peak season. With 80+ tigers in the park, your chances are excellent. Morning safaris generally have higher sighting rates.
What should I wear and bring on safari?
Wear earthy, neutral-colored clothing (khaki, olive, brown). Bring original photo ID, sunscreen, sunglasses, hat, binoculars, camera with zoom lens, and a water bottle. In winter (Nov–Feb), carry warm layers as mornings are cold.
Do you provide hotel pickup and drop?
Most hotels in Sawai Madhopur and Ranthambore area provide their own pickup and drop to the park gate. We can arrange transportation on request at an additional charge. Contact us for details.
