Jeep Safari Booking Ranthambore
Jeep Safari Experience
The Ultimate Wildlife Adventure
A Jeep Safari (Gypsy) in Ranthambore is the most popular and immersive way to explore India’s premier tiger reserve.
Why Choose Jeep Safari?
The Jeep Safari uses Maruti Gypsy open-top vehicles, seating just 6 passengers plus a driver and a certified naturalist guide. This small group size ensures an intimate, personalized wildlife experience.
Unlike Canter safaris, jeeps can access all 10 zones of the park — including the premium core zones 1-5, which are known to have the highest tiger density. The jeep’s compact size allows it to navigate narrow forest trails, getting you closer to wildlife than any other vehicle.

Jeep Safari FAQs
Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about Ranthambore Jeep Safari.
What type of vehicle is used for Jeep Safari?
Ranthambore Jeep Safari uses Maruti Gypsy open-top vehicles. These are specially modified 6-seater 4×4 vehicles designed for off-road jungle trails. Each vehicle comes with a trained driver and a certified naturalist guide from the Forest Department.
How many people can sit in a Jeep Safari?
A Jeep Safari accommodates exactly 6 passengers plus the driver and guide. You can book individual seats (shared with other visitors) or book the full jeep (6 seats) for a private experience. Full jeep booking is recommended for families and photography groups.
What is the difference between Jeep and Canter Safari?
Jeep Safari (6 seats) accesses all 10 zones including premium zones 1-5. It’s more intimate, agile, and better for photography. Canter Safari (20 seats) is more affordable but less personal.
Is Jeep Safari safe for children?
Yes, but children below 5 years are generally not recommended due to the bumpy terrain and early morning cold. Children aged 5-12 can join with supervision. All children need a valid ID proof (birth certificate). The safari trail can be rough, so children should be able to sit comfortably for 3.5 hours.
What happens if the safari is cancelled due to weather?
If the safari is cancelled by the Forest Department due to extreme weather conditions, you will receive a full refund or the option to reschedule to another available date at no extra charge. This is rare and usually only happens during heavy unseasonal rainfall.
Which shift is better — Morning or Evening?
Morning safaris (6:00–9:30 AM) generally have better tiger sighting rates as animals are more active in cooler temperatures. The golden morning light is also ideal for photography. Evening safaris (2:30–6:00 PM) offer beautiful sunset lighting and a different ambiance. For the best experience, we recommend booking both shifts.
